Androgyne Side Table Ø63

About

Audo Copenhagen conceived the Androgyne Side Table as an exploration of visual tension between opposing formal languages. The circular top extends well beyond its sculptural pedestal base, creating an overhang that reads as simultaneously grounded and floating. This proportional relationship generates the table's distinctive presence, avoiding the predictable symmetry of conventional occasional furniture.

The base employs organic curves that suggest natural erosion or bodily forms, softening what could otherwise feel severe. Metal finishes span bronzed brass, dark chrome, and brushed stainless steel, each surface treatment altering the perceived weight and temperature of the form. Above, the tabletop disc offers material options that range from warm Emperador marble to dramatic Nero Marquina, with Calacatta Viola and Crystal Rose providing additional tonal possibilities.

Dimensional options accommodate various spatial requirements and compositional intentions. The 63cm diameter version suits placement beside sofas or lounge chairs, providing sufficient surface for books, drinks, and small objects without overwhelming adjacent furniture. Audo sells bases and tops separately, enabling buyers to configure combinations that respond to specific interior palettes and personal preferences.

The low profile encourages horizontal use, creating a platform that draws the eye downward and anchors seating arrangements. Multiple tables from the collection can cluster together, their varying heights and materials creating conversational groupings that evolve as rooms change. For spaces seeking furniture with sculptural ambition beyond mere function, the Androgyne delivers presence without demanding attention, occupying its territory with quiet confidence.
