About

Urban transportation deserves objects that respect both the rider and the cityscape. Vässla developed the Bike 1 as a pedal-free electric moped engineered specifically for metropolitan movement, capable of traveling through designated bike lanes at speeds reaching 25 km/h without the physical exertion traditional cycling demands.

The propulsion system centers on a 450W hub motor paired with Samsung 21700 battery cells, technology selected for consistent power delivery and longevity across thousands of charging cycles. Aircraft-grade aluminum forms the structural foundation, bringing total weight to just 24 kg, light enough for occasional lifting yet substantial enough to feel planted at speed. Hydraulic rear suspension absorbs the imperfections that define urban pavement, while disc brakes at both wheels provide stopping power proportional to conditions.

Practical considerations received equal attention during development. The battery removes for charging at any outlet, eliminating dependence on dedicated stations. An integrated display consolidates speed, distance traveled, and operational data into immediate view. Tires rated for all weather conditions maintain grip across wet surfaces, and an electric horn announces presence without the aggression of automotive alternatives. The seat balances cushioning with support for longer journeys, acknowledging that daily commutes accumulate into significant time spent in contact with the machine. Every specification serves the goal of making motorized urban travel feel thoughtful rather than compromised.
