Exercise equipment rarely deserves permanent residence in living spaces. NOHRD challenged this assumption with the Bike V2, constructing an indoor cycling platform from solid walnut that earns its place among furniture rather than hiding in spare rooms between sessions.
The frame demonstrates what happens when woodworking craft meets athletic engineering. Walnut selected for grain consistency and structural integrity forms the primary structure, machined to tolerances that allow smooth mechanical operation while showcasing natural wood character. Every joint and curve reflects deliberate shaping, creating visual interest that holds up to daily proximity rather than demanding concealment.
Performance systems operate with equal sophistication beneath the organic exterior. A touchscreen integrates flush within the handlebar assembly, presenting speed, cadence, distance, and power data without protruding bezels or afterthought mounting. Bluetooth connectivity opens compatibility with major training applications, enabling structured workouts and virtual riding environments. The resistance dial positions at the front right, allowing micro-adjustments during efforts without breaking rhythm or shifting grip.
Mechanical refinement defines the riding experience. Planetary gearing combined with eddy current braking delivers resistance that feels linear and controlled across the full range, from recovery spins to maximum sprints.
