Classic Sleeve
About
Killspencer manufactures from a facility in Los Angeles where leather workers cut, stitch, and finish each piece by hand. The Classic Sleeve exemplifies their approach, wrapping modern electronics in materials and construction methods that predate the devices they protect by centuries.
Full-grain leather forms the exterior shell. This designation indicates the outermost layer of the hide, the portion containing the tightest fiber structure and most distinctive surface character. Unlike corrected or split leathers, full-grain develops a patina through handling, becoming more beautiful rather than more worn as years accumulate. The interior uses soft suede, providing cushioning that prevents screen scratches while sliding devices in and out smoothly.
Closure options include a simple flap secured by friction and gravity or a zipper that fully encases the contents. The flap version suits quick-access scenarios and briefcase carry, while the zippered model offers additional security for standalone transport. Both maintain the slim profile that makes the sleeve practical as an insert within larger bags.
Dimensions are calibrated for current tablet and laptop sizes, providing snug fit without excessive material bulk. Edge stitching follows traditional saddlery techniques, using heavy thread that will not unravel even under sustained stress. This sleeve is not merely storage but an argument that protective accessories deserve the same design consideration as the devices themselves.
