Riviera Backpack
About
Ferronato approaches the everyday backpack as an exercise in material integrity and purposeful engineering. The Riviera draws on Italian calfskin leather, selected for its supple hand and natural grain variation, then reinforces the interior with Swiss MetaFab, a signal-blocking textile that shields devices from unwanted digital intrusion. The result is a carry that addresses contemporary concerns about privacy without sacrificing tactile pleasure or visual restraint.
The construction follows a dual-compartment architecture, each section accessed through its own full-length zipper, allowing contents to remain organized rather than jumbled. A dedicated front pocket sits ready for transit cards, keys, or small essentials that demand quick retrieval. Inside, a removable MetaFab sleeve accommodates laptops and tablets measuring up to 15 inches, creating a Faraday-like enclosure that interrupts wireless tracking and unauthorized scanning.
Structurally, the bag holds its shape whether loaded or empty, a quality achieved through careful internal paneling that avoids the slump common to softer designs. The shoulder straps distribute weight evenly across longer commutes, while the back panel maintains airflow against the body. Swiss precision meets Italian leather tradition in an object meant to be carried daily, handled often, and appreciated quietly over years of use.
