Imola Armchair

Henrik Pedersen drew inspiration from an unexpected source when designing the Imola for BoConcept: the compressed curve of a tennis ball at the moment of impact. That playful reference translates into a chair with organic, enveloping contours that cradle the body from multiple angles. High-density molded foam fills the shell, shaped to support the lower back and shoulders without the rigid architecture typical of ergonomic seating, creating a posture that feels relaxed yet engaged.

Upholstered in caramel Nordic Vintage leather, the chair develops character over time as the hide softens and acquires the patina unique to natural materials. Each seam follows the sculptural form with precision, the stitching serving as both structural reinforcement and decorative detail that emphasizes the sweeping lines. A swivel base allows easy repositioning without standing, making the Imola equally suited for conversation, reading, or contemplation. The generous proportions accommodate extended sitting sessions, while the visual lightness of the elevated base prevents the chair from dominating smaller rooms.
