Skeletool
About
Leatherman engineers studied which multitool features actually see regular use and designed the Skeletool around those findings. Rather than cramming maximum tool count into a heavy frame, they selected seven implements that address common needs and housed them in a skeletonized chassis that reduces weight without sacrificing strength.
The closed length of 4 inches and mass of 141.75 grams create a tool that genuinely suits daily pocket carry. A removable clip allows deep positioning against fabric, while the integrated carabiner provides attachment to bags and belt loops when clip carry is impractical. Both options maintain quick access without requiring a sheath.
Needle-nose pliers occupy the primary position, with spring-loaded handles that reduce hand fatigue during extended gripping tasks. The 420HC stainless steel blade deploys with one hand via an external release mechanism, locking securely into position. Additional tools include a combination bit driver with two double-ended bits, a bottle opener, and the carabiner clip.
The open frame construction distinguishes the Skeletool visually from solid-handled alternatives. Visible mechanisms communicate the tool's function honestly, suggesting industrial heritage without aggressive tactical styling. For users who want genuine capability in a form factor that integrates with everyday clothing rather than dominating it, this multitool provides thoughtfully edited functionality through considered engineering.
