Nomos established their workshop in Glashutte, the historic center of German watchmaking, shortly after reunification opened the region to new enterprise. The Tangente emerged as their foundational design, drawing inspiration from the Bauhaus movement that shaped German aesthetics throughout the twentieth century. Today it remains the model most closely associated with the brand, a touchstone against which their other collections are understood.

The case measures thin enough to slip beneath shirt cuffs without creating unsightly bulges, yet contains a manually wound movement engineered and assembled in-house. Wire lugs extend from the case in slender curves that follow traditional pocket watch aesthetics adapted for wrist wear. This construction creates visual lightness, making the watch appear to hover above the strap rather than anchor heavily to it.
