About

Ekster reconceives the wallet around the reality that cards have displaced cash as primary payment method. The aluminum chassis at the core provides the rigidity that leather alone cannot achieve, creating a shell that resists bending and protects card chips from damage.

Top-grain leather wraps this internal structure, contributing the tactile warmth and developing patina that metal surfaces cannot provide. The combination balances durability with aesthetics, offering both protection and presence.

The defining feature operates through a thumb-activated trigger mechanism. Press once and stored cards deploy in a staggered fan arrangement, each edge visible for immediate identification and selection. This mechanical action eliminates the fumbling through stacked cards that characterizes conventional wallets, converting retrieval from excavation into gesture.

Dimensional reduction follows naturally from the rigid construction. The wallet occupies less pocket volume than bifolds carrying equivalent contents, reducing the bulge and discomfort associated with traditional carry. Front pocket placement becomes practical where previously impossible.

RFID blocking integrates into the aluminum core, preventing unauthorized scanning of contactless payment cards. This protection operates passively, requiring no activation or awareness from the user.

The wallet accepts between four and twelve cards depending on model selection, with additional space for folded cash and receipts. Most users find this capacity sufficient for daily requirements, encouraging the card curation that simplifies payment decisions.

Mechanical components receive testing through thousands of actuation cycles, ensuring the trigger mechanism maintains its satisfying action through years of regular use. This longevity justifies the investment, spreading cost across extended service life.
