About

Craighill approached this corkscrew as an exercise in mechanical refinement, stripping away ornament to expose pure function rendered in brushed stainless steel. The body folds flat for storage, each component hinging into the next with precision that eliminates rattle and wobble. When extended, the tool becomes an elegant lever system that extracts corks with controlled, even force regardless of length or condition.

The swingarm incorporates a ratcheting mechanism that delivers smooth, incremental upward motion rather than requiring a single straining pull. This measured approach prevents cork damage and reduces the effort needed, particularly useful for older bottles with delicate stoppers. A serrated blade folds from the handle end, its teeth sized to cut cleanly through foil capsules when traced around bottle necks.

Crown caps receive attention through an integrated opener machined into the handle, transforming this from a single-purpose tool into an all-purpose bar companion. The locking positions keep everything secure during transport, whether tucked into an apron pocket or stowed in a drawer among other implements. Weight distribution favors the handle for comfortable leverage, while the overall length provides the reach needed to seat the worm accurately before beginning extraction.
